an introduction to my blog and to my new website.
INTENT – So called because it’s the most important element when working in the studio.
Big thank you to Robert Miller for the hilarious cover photo taken on a recent trip to Monsanto, Northern Portugal. My second visit to that extraordinary, beautiful place and source of much rock based work. Lots of sketching done – some shown here, plus one of the sketches from our first visit, and which led to one of the oil paintings in the ROCK section …

I put the website together using FABRIK and I’m really pleased with it – very intuitive to use (once I got my brain into tech mode… took a little while!) and I can update and add to it as time goes by. Here are some pointers to some pages that I particularly like.
I’m pretty chuffed with the page for my current exhibition in Alportel, São Brás, at the Centro Museologico… all those moving parts! You have to give it time to all load up… or is that just my slow wifi?

I had to keep in the essay ‘Threads Across Waters’ written for my 50th birthday by my incredible daughter Phoebe. Given to me over ten years ago yet still totally relevant and just so beautifully written. So many interesting ideas in there – worth a read.

I was very happy to discover that the two gorgeous videos that never seemed to work in my last website are back functioning perfectly.
One was made by Phoebe for the SALTMOTHER event in Smeale, Isle of Man where we lived for many years… click on the second image on the page

And the other was made for me so kindly by Luigi Sibona when Covid shut down the show Liminal Point after only a couple of days. Thanks also to Catia Alhandra for giving permission to use ‘Song of the Moura’ for it. Again, click on the second image on the page.
